You are not Alone

Whenever I turn on the tube there’s another report of downsized companies and major layoffs. With record numbers of people filing unemployment the question becomes one of serious uncertainty and concern.

How do people suppose to live while the price on everything from food to clothing continues to rise. With a sense of urgency and desperation folk are destined to do whatever it takes to survive. The key word here is survival.

Everything appears to work in a domino effect. Let’s see..losing your home to forclosure, car repossessed, family structure dismantled due to the inability to support or contribute…the inevibility leads to desperate measures. Bank robberies, suicides and theft has been on the major incline over the last several months and are expected to get even worse before the smoke clears…if ever.

More hi-tech prisons than institutions of higher learning have been built over the past 20 years with the specific intent to accomodate the desperate..
There’s two thing many have in common these days… living in a country with economic turbulence and a paycheck away from homelessness.

So what do you do?

One Response to “You are not Alone”

  1. You do grassroots organizing. Those who have help those who need. You speak up to the folks who say people are lazy who need help, who say the government needs to give more corporate tax breaks and less healthcare and job training and education. Remember the constitution: Government by the people of the people and FOR the people! Stop the hating and start the helping of each other!
